Shawn was born October 26, 1983, in Little Rock Arkansas to the union of J. T. and Wanda Suttles. He departed this life after a courageous battle with his health on September 21, 2018, at the age of 35.
He received his formal academic education in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1997 the Suttles family relocated to Benton Harbor. Being reared in a Christian home…..he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very early age. Shawn’s childhood love for music and gospel singing led him to become a member of the Michigan Soul Revivor’s. This same love for singing and the music world introduced him to Tru Vizion, s group of young men that became “Brothers” to him. The brotherhood and love that was shared with, James Cummings, Carl Davis, Demetrius Frazier, Sr., Isaiah Hunt, Terrell Jones, Willie Burton, and J. T. Wilkins was a close and spiritual journey lasting nine years as a group but lovingly became a life-long friendship! He was a dedicated and faithful member of Brotherhood of all Nations until the Master called him home. He was also a proud member of the New Bethel Masonic Lodge. His most enjoyable times were: spending time with his family, cooking, singing and playing that bass guitar!
Shawn leaves precious memories in the hearts of his parents, J. T. Suttles, and Wanda Suttles; Sisters: Dorothy, Deloris, Linda Suttles and Tanya Suttles-Prowell; Brothers: John Suttles and Larry Coleman, Jr.; Step-children: Tyrique, Rasheriah and Kaliah; God-parents: Kenneth and Rosie Haley, God-father: Craig Johnson; God-Sisters, Tandalaya Carter and special friend, Veronica Sanders and a host of other family members and friends too numerous to name…..He was loved by everyone that was blessed to know him and share his warm smile.
Shawn was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Wilma Jones and Bessie Suttles; Grandfather, Henry Suttles.
