Mae Davis Obituary

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Mae Bernice Parker Davis  was born May 30, 1948 in Memphis, TN to the late A. D. and the late Florette Parker. She departed this life to be with the Lord September 6, 2019 following a lengthy illness.

Mae was a 1966  graduate of Benton Harbor High School. She received her Associate  Degree from Lake Michigan College . She was employed by Qwest Dex, Denver, Colorado in Customer Relations

Mae like riding horses, bowling, bingo, going to the casino, playing card games, family, and more especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mae married the late Douglas Davis  in 1967.  Their family consisted of two daughters, Shawnette Beckem (Tyrone)of Manhattan, Kansas, and Teon White (Kirk)  of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a Son, William Davis(Shawnie) of Manhattan, Kansas. She has  seven grandchildren; Curtis Davis, Tyroniesha Reed (Shane),Cameron Davis, Tyrone Beckem (Jonalyn), Centrece McCall, Torrence McCall, and, Kiryon White,; 7 great grandchildren: Brooklyn Reed, Sha’Nila Beckem, Gabriel Reed, Melena Beckem, JamaJa Davis, Aniya Davis, and Arabella Davis; and goddaughter Rochelle Jones.

Mae  was a  member of Union Memorial AME Church and after she relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1984. She joined Campbell Chapel AME Church where she was on the Usher Board. After relocating to Manhattan, KS, she was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Mae leaves to cherish her memory her children, grand children , great Grand children, four  sisters Jimmie Tyler (William), Dr. Shirley Stansberry ( Andrew), of Benton Harbor, Michigan,Janice Jenkins (Edward) and Donna Turrietta of Albuquerque, New  Mexico, and two brothers, Quentin Parker(Sherry) and Michael Parker (Phyllis)  all of  Benton Harbor, Michigan

Mae was preceded in death by her parents A.D. and Florette Parker; two sisters, Ura Smith and Rita Lipscomb, two brothers, George Parker and Thomas Parker.
