Kevin Damon White was born on February 4, 1971, to Wesley Singleton, Jr. and Earlene White in Detroit, Michigan, he accepted Christ at an early age.
Kevin attended school in the Benton Harbor Area Schools district and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1989. After graduating he attended Ivy Tech for mechanic training in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Kevin’s career started at Discount Tire and moved to D.C Cook Nuclear Power Plant. Later he took a supervisory role at Bearing Technologies where he met the love of his life, Yolanda Jenkins. Always seeking advancement, he joined Bosch as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operator. Kevin made a pivot in his career and he went back to school and received his commercial drivers' license (CDL). Kevin worked several years transporting goods for an international restaurant chain, as a blessing presented itself, he was offered and joined the Michigan Department of Transportation. (MDOT) where he remained until his end.
Kevin loved his community and served in many capacities which ultimately led him to become an elected official for Benton Township ending with an appointment as Benton Township Supervisor which he worked with diligence and with passion.
In 1999, Kevin married Yolanda Jenkins and one child, Taylor Symone White was born from this union.
When Kevin wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with family, socializing with classmates and friends, driving and working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and bringing joy to the party through music.
Kevin was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother, and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, of 20yrs Yolanda White, one daughter, Taylor Symone White, of (Madison Heights MI), his mother Earlene White of (Benton Harbor, MI) father Wesley Singleton Jr. of (Aiken, South Carolina), three sisters Kina(Matthew) Coates, of (Westland, MI) Kaici (Eric) Gavin of ( Fort Myers, FL) Monica Driver of ( Dayton, OH). Mother-in-law Beatrice Jenkins of (South Haven, MI) Aunt Pearlene Davenport and Uncle Mozell Banks both of Benton Harbor, MI. One goddaughter Ericka Pringle of Grand Rapids, MI.
Kevin is preceded in death by grandmother Margaret W. Banks and one aunt, Shirley Woods, and two uncles John Banks Jr. and Theodore Banks.
Furthermore, Kevin will be remembered by a host of family, friends, and the Benton Harbor, Class of 1989, and Michigan Department of Transportation and Benton Charter Township family.
