George Davis

George Davis 90 of Benton Harbor, transitioned on October 11, 2018, at Pine Ridge in Stevensville MI.  Legacy farewell service will be held on October 20, 2018, at Union Memorial AME,  911 S. Crystal Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022 with visitation starting at 10:00 am followed by service at 11:00 am.  

George Davis transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home, St Joseph, MI.  He was born June 11, 1928, in Prattville, AL to Claude and Lula Davis. George received his formal education in Prattville, Alabama.  He served our country in the Korean War.  Serving in the Army 101st Airborne Division.

George was employed by Superior Steele Manufacturing and later Benton Harbor Area Schools, where he retired. He was a member the American Legion Post 410, Papa Son Mama Son and former member of the Old Timers Club.

George was united in marriage to Jessie Pearl Shackleford in 1954 Prattville, AL. To this union, five children were born. Family was extremely important to George he loved attending family reunions and was very knowledgeable about the family history.

George leaves to cherish in his memory his Wife Jessie Pearl Davis, Brother Joe C. (Flossie) Davis, Daughter Karen (Anthony Bell) Davis, of Silver Spring, MD. Sons Kirk Davis Phoenix, AZ, Kevin Davis Defiance, OH and Kendall (Augustina) Davis Bowie, MD.  Eleven Grand-Children, four Great Grand-Children and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Three Special Nieces Brenda Banks, Audrey Pringle, and Wilma Tootle.

George was preceded in death by his Parents, Son Wayne Keith Davis, Sister Ella Moltimore, Grandson Lawrence Michael (Mikey) Hester.
