George Carter, 52, departed this life on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Benton Harbor, MI, at the home of his fiancee, Regina Moore, surrounded by his family and friends Services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1105 E. Main St., Benton Harbor. Viewing at 11am and Celebration of Life at noon. Interment at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor.
George Carter was born July 6, 1964 in Marks, Mississippi to the union of Kelly Jefferson Carter, Sr. and Effie Mae Carter.

George graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1982. He later entered the construction field and spent 13 years in Florida as a construction supervisor. He returned to Michigan and worked in maintenance for several years and was currently employed by River Terrace as a maintenance man until he became ill.
George confessed Christ and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the late, Rev. Emery Varrie, Sr.
George enjoyed first and foremost spending time with his family and friends. George also enjoyed singing, dancing, cracking jokes, traveling and listening to the blues.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly Jefferson Carter and Effie Mae Carter; his sister, Stacey Ann Carter-Potts. He leaves to cherish his memory, his fiance, Regina Moore; one son, George Carter, Jr., siblings; Charlie (Inez) Carter, Kelly Carter, Jr., Curtis Carter, Sabrina Carter and her fiancé, Adell Clark, all of Benton Harbor, MI.; special friend, Arnold Bettison of Mobile Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
