Florine Dyson

Florine Dyson 72 of Benton Harbor, MI transitioned on August 13, 2018, in Zion, IL surrounded by her family,  her legacy farewell service is pending at this time.

Florine Bethea-Dyson was on December 16, 1945, in LaPorte Indiana. To the late Ellis Bethea Sr. and Jacqueline Lissimore.

On June 13, 1963, Florine married James Dyson Sr. and from this union, three kids were born, Lynette, James Jr. (Darwin) and Delphine. Who they lovingly call "Fa"

She also raised two beloved grandsons, Anthony D. Allen (LaWanda) and Aaron D. Allen

Florine resided in Benton Harbor, MI her entire life. Florine was educated in the Benton Harbor School System, where she graduated from Benton Harbor High School in. Later she attends Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, where she earned her Associate Degree in Social Science. She always believes in everyone having an education. Florine worked in the Benton Harbor School System as Para-Professional and later went to work at Shephard Products until she retired.

Florine was an active member of Highland Seventh Day Adventist Church. Where she volunteered at the church community center. She was very passionate about helping others in need.

Florine was a humble spirit and she always put God first. Florine's favorite saying was, "I am doing the best that I can." and "Pray before you speak or act."

Florine overcame many obstacles with her health as well as in life. Florine never complained and always remained positive and humble.

Florine, spirit was given rest on Monday, August 13, in Zion, Illinois. Florine stated, "Don't weep for me, my assignment on earth is over. Love one’s rest and be assured.

Florine leaves to mourn her two sons; James D. Dyson Jr. and Anthony D. Allen Jr. (LaWanda): one daughter; Delphine L. Dyson: seven brothers; Harrell (Genell) Bethea, Las Vegas, NV. Eddie (Rose) Lusk, East St. Louis, Il, James (Lucinda) Bethea, Samuel (Stacey) Bethea, John Bethea, Ronnie Patrick, Anthony Patrick all of Benton Harbor, MI: four sisters; Teretha (Edward) Bowens, Deloise (TJ) Taylor both of Benton Harbor,MI,  Joanne (Bud) Brewton, Myrtle (James) White, both of Waukegan, Ill.

Extended family in Detroit: Walter and Wanda Harrison, Lamont (Chantel) Love, James (Virta) Kelly, Fredrick (Monica) Buckles.

Three close friends; the late Bessie London, James Valentine, Fred Blackmon and a host of close cousins’ nieces and nephews.

Florine was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynette Dyson; son, Aaron D. Allen. Three brothers’; Superintendent Elder Ellis Bethea Jr. (Mary), Donnie Bethea both of Benton Harbor, MI, Freddie Lusk of St. Louis, MO; two sister's Jacqueline Bethea and Linda Patrick of Benton Harbor.

Florine stated:  "I have made my election sure. Pray for others, don't prey on other's."
