Elizabeth "Betty" J. (Allen) Beck

 Elizabeth "Betty J Beck 75 of Charlotte NC formerly of Benton Harbor departed this life September 29, 2019 at Carolina medical center Charlotte NC after a short illness.

Betty's life begin May 17, 1944 in Chicago Illinois, the daughter of Berth Ann and Funjay Allen. She was the first child of three children. She attended Hirsch Metropolitan High School and graduated in 1965. Later on Betty Jean furthered her education at Cortez Peters Business School and graduated in 1967. In 1966 she married James McGee. To this union two children were born son Jeremy and daughter Jennifer.  She started her career at Harris Bank one of the largest banks in Chicago. During her time at Harris Bank, Betty worked as a data entry operator. After her marriage ended she chose to relocate and move to Benton Harbor Michigan. With such an impressive resume, working for Harris bank and her dressing style, Betty landed a job at Whirlpool Co. for 10 years.  She later married her 2nd husband Ray Beck Sr. this marriage also ended in divorced but they still remained close friends. When her job at Whirlpool dissolved, she was hired immediately at Lakeland Hospital where she worked for 15 years in patient registration.

After her daughter relocated to Charlotte NC being the devoted grandmother to her two grandsons ( Jamari JaCoy McGee and Jordan Ja'Vauhgn McGee- Erby) and the mother she was, she then decided to further her career at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte NC. Betty worked for Carolina Medical Center for 6 years before retiring. Betty Jean leaves to cherish her memory a son, Jeremy (Trenna) McGee and a daughter, Jennifer McGee. Three grandsons Jeremy McGee Jr. of Indianapolis Indiana, Jamari JaCoy McGee and Jordan JaVaughn McGee -Erby of Charlotte NC. Two granddaughters Britney (Edrei) Mpanduki, Shanee' (Andre) Brown. Five great grandchildren Sofiana J. McGee, Tynel, Talaya, Andre and Randel. One brother Stanley Allen and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Bertha Ann & Funjay Allen, her brother Larry Allen grandparents Rev. Leroy and Cora Thomas, her sister-in-laws Mrs. Cora Mae Butler, Lillie Newton and brother-in-law Julius (Linda) McGee. Betty also survived by her sister-in-laws JoAnne McGee Chicago Illinois and Ms. Edna Stewart Slidell Louisiana.
