She was the 2nd daughter of four born to the union of Ivory & Barbara Jones on Dec 11, 1967.  She had accepted Christ & baptism at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Lawrence Crockett.  Doris then transferred to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of then Pastors Coleman Gray & Pastor John L. Price.  She was in the young adult choir and in her adulthood, she was an Usher.  Doris Moved her membership to Greater Community COGIC where she continued to usher and was later asked to be on the State usher board. When she wasn't able to continue she then moved to First Presbyterian Church, under the Leadership of Pastor Laurie Hartzell.  There, Doris was on the door again helping others.  Doris a 1986 Graduate of Benton Harbor High School always loved working and helping where she could or being somewhere children were.

She was a teacher’s aide for LMC Kids Zone for a short period of time until her sickness progressed.  Even then she wanted to continue looking after her grandchildren, nieces, nephews.  She always said, "supply me with popcorn and I'll find a movie to keep them quiet".  Doris always had a spunky & bubbly attitude.  She kept the family laughing and upbeat all the way until her passing.  She wouldn't allow anyone to be sad or cry around her.  She said, "do that somewhere else but not in front of me".

She loved to hear the song MY LORD AND I. Doris held everyone dear to her heart, as she said in her final weeks, "she has a lot of love left in her and she can't do it from a hospital bed. She expressed to us, "Be like Cancer spread, TAG YOU'RE IT!"

She leaves to cherish her beloved memories Her parents: Ivory (Barbara Jones), Sons: Fredrick D. Jones, Jermaine A. (Jasmine) Jones Sr. Special granddaughter she raised Fayeannah Jackson, 7 grandchildren, total Sisters: Darlene Jones, Donna (Terry) Wilson, Sharon (Eugene)Smith, Special Friend Frank Martin of (12yrs), Special Childhood friend Lynda Pollins Host of Nieces & Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends
