Dereck Wade

Dereck Tescanellis Wade transitioned on April 11, 2018 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta GA.  His legacy farewell service will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, 204 S Fair Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022, with visitation starting at 10:00 am and services beginning at 11:00 am 

On Thursday August 21, 1975 Jehovah brought forward a blessing. A bouncing baby boy to Zelma Wade & Alfred Gulledge. There first-born son Dereck Tescanellis Wade.

He was born and reared in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Growing up between Benton Harbor, Mi and South Bend, IN. Derek was a joy to know and most that knew him loved his very gentle yet stern demeanor. Derek was a man of few words and a large heart. He enjoyed his family time and was all about spending time with his family.  Dereck enjoyed being the head of his house and loved his Wife & Children. He had a love for fast car’s He most of enjoyed sharing life with Banika Winston – Wade for the past 25 years with whom together they made life a chore that they split and meet in the middle.  He had love for the porker table and was always winning.  His most memorable past time was to go fishing.  He enjoyed fishing and peace of the water.   He and his family had lived in various cities, prior to calling Atlanta, GA home.    He was currently employed, at Assemblers Incorporated; his position with the company was Merchandise Assembly / Trainer Supervisor.

He leaves his love ones to cherish his memory.  His loving devoted wife Banika Winston – Wade of Riverdale Georgia, His loving Mother Zelma Wade of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Parent in laws Gerry & Doris (Dorothy) Winston of Atlanta, Ga.  His continued blood line to carry on his legacy his Children 4 sons: Dereck Wade – Raines, of Flint Michigan, Dereck Tescanellis Wade Jr, Dedreck Tentrell Wade, of Dowagic, Mi   Dalasreck Tyese Wade, of Riverdale, Ga. 2 Daughters Dorika Lee Wade, of Kalamzoo Michigan, & Derenika MaePrecious Wade of Riverdale, Georgia.  His brother’s Alfred (Tamika)Wade Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan Shannon (Paul Stein) Rand of Houston, TX Gerry Winston Jr of Kalamazoo, Mi 1 Sister Lenia Powell of Riverdale Ga. 8 Grandchildren Terrence Nabors, Amariyah Wade, Kamarion Wade, Evani Melody Armani Wade, Dereck Tescanellis Wade III, Jayceon Aunylan Wade, Dereck Wade-Raines Jr, Honesty Wade Raines and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother Royale Wade and his Father Alfred Gulledge
