Cleveland Proctor

August 22, 1929 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Cleveland Proctor, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, transitioned on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was 88 years old.

A visitation will  be held on Saturday January 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at Robbins Brother Funeral Home in Benton Harbor, MI. Along with a  Memorial Service at the Kingdom Hall 1 p.m. of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 281 S Martin Luther King Drive.  

He was born on Aug. 22, 1929 to the late Hattie Lee Hutcherson and Robert Proctor in Thompson, GA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Mr. Proctor served in the Army for several years. He worked several occupations to provide for his family. His favorite thing to do was fishing, he could fish for hours, which was how he liked to pass time and relax. He loved to tell his grandchildren stories about how times were when he was a young man. Some of his family fondest moments is his stories, his laugh that made anybody’s day better. Mr. Proctor was big on treating others the way he wanted to be treated. He was a devoted family man and he always put his family first.

Although suffering through a myriad of health issues, Mr. Proctor faith and service to Jehovah never wavered. “All who knew him knew about his love for and faith in Jehovah God.”

Mr. Proctor married his wife, Carrie Mae Proctor, on April 7, 1956 and four children were born to their union two sons and two daughter’s. They remained married until her sudden death in 2004. He has one surviving daughter Darlene Roberts; eight grandchildren- Tiffany Roberts, Maurice Anderson, Dorian Roberts II, LaShawanda Proctor, Darnell Roberts, Sanford Proctor, Shannon Pryor, Damon Wilson. Also surviving is five great grandchildren, siblings and a host of relatives and friends.
