Claudia Bernice Stone

Claudia went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2018, at Lakeland Medical Hospital, St. Joseph, Michigan. Legacy farewell services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1105 E Main St, Benton Harbor, MI with visitation starting at 10:00 am followed by services at 11:00 am interment will be held at Crystal Spring Cemetery.

A Life of love to be celebrated never mourned.  Mrs. Claudia Bernice Stone was born June 2, 1930, to the Late Robert and Virginia Sims in Kankakee Illinois. Claudia grew up in Chicago Illinois and received her education in Chicago Public Schools.

In 1956 Claudia married the late Archie Douglas Stone and to this Union, four children were born. Claudia then relocated to Benton Harbor, MI. Claudia worked numerous jobs until her health failed. 

Claudia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, going to church, and most of all fishing.

Claudia received Christ at an early age.  She was a Member of Church of Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ under the leadership of Rev. Bennett. She later joined St. Matthews Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie C. Wright.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Victoria (Stone) Jones, Margo (James) Fryson Of Benton Harbor; sister, Latrise Nuckolls of Bloomington Illinois.  Ten grandchildren Jonathan, Nakicha, Kenisha, Lovell, Misheguel, Larry, James, Sade, Altavious and Taja. 28 great-grandchildren and God Daughter Waniesha (Eddie) Marlowe and Sis in Law Lynette and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Sarah Rice.

Claudia was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Archie D. Stone, daughter Patricia Robinson, son, Nathaniel Stone, brothers Robert Sims, James Sims, Sister Louise, Mattie, and Rosie.
