Beverly Clark Obituary

Her Wings Were Ready...
The Queen of Hearts, Beverly Clark, received an offer she could not ignore and an appointment from which she would not return, she gained her wings and flew away. This assignment came with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with her parents, her son, her siblings, her family, and friends. This new mission now allows her to socialize, cook, crack jokes, play cards and watch over us eternally.

Beverly Janet Finley, affectionately known as “Grandma”, was born July 31, 1937, with her beloved twin Bonita in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of the late Nina and Joseph Finley. In 1949, Beverly moved to Benton Harbor with her family and was a resident for 70 years. After moving to Michigan, Beverly attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. She confessed a hope in Christ at the age of 12 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Daniel E. Cook.

A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and homemaker to many, Beverly, “The “Queen of Monroe and May” enjoyed preparing meals not only for family and friends but the entire neighborhood. She had a niche for helping people understand how to play the cards that they were dealt in life. Beverly loved to celebrate life and was sure to make every holiday about her. Even in heaven, she’ll continue to Our Hearts Were Not.”

Beverly began her new journey on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 2:10 pm at Spectrum Lakeland Medical Center as she transitioned to her heavenly home surrounded by close family. She left instructions for her family and friends to celebrate her life on earth. She will truly be missed.

Beverly leaves to cherish great memories in the hearts of her seven children: Donald (Stephanie) Clark, Dana Clark, Norma Clark, Tyrone Robinson Sr. and Kevin Moore all of Benton Harbor; Penny Finley of Grand Rapids, MI and Danny Clark of Battle Creek, MI. Five Grandchildren that she raised: Angel (Sylvester) Crayton, Joseph Clark, Antwonette Johnson, Sparkle Robinson, and Tyree Robinson. Sixteen additional grandchildren: Tonya Burch, Anna, Deshauna and Deshaun Clark. Tamara (Leon) Lloyd, Dana and Danielle Rudley-Clark, Kiara Hooks, Tyrone Jr., and Tyshaun Robinson, Jezreel Mosby and Jaleel Moore, Latasha, Ayisha, Cubie and Nina Finley. A very special niece: Sheryl Finley and three special nephews: Eric (Laura Mae) Finley, Donald (Doris) Finley Jr. and Leonard Guess. Two Cousins: Sandra (Lee) Reed and Marlene Willis. Her Best Friend: Doris Howard and extended loved ones: Dorice (Monteal) Wilcher, Quan Guess, Lori Davis, Schenetta Robinson, Raffeal McGee, Tenisha Jones, Chuckie, and Maria Clark.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, her twin sister, Bonita Finley and Doris Guess; (5) brothers, Donald “Cubie” Finley, Joseph Finley Jr., Giles Robinson, William Robinson, and Vincent Robinson. (1) son, Gregory Clark, and granddaughter, Ashley Clark.
