The Life of Jimmie Bee Hill
A time to be born: Jimmie Bee Hill was born on a bright sunny day that happened to be Monday, June 24, 1974, to the proud parents of the late Jimmie B. Dortch and Mable Hill.
A time to serve: Jimmie aka Sir Jip attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and Coloma Community Schools and was a member of the class of 1994.
Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Greater Harvest Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverand Richardson. He sang with the Benton Harbor All-Stars quartet.
To know Jimmie was to love him. He was the family comedian and protector. His favorite ways to pass time: drinking, eating, and telling jokes! Anyone who knew him knew he wasn’t one to take no mess. He said what he meant and meant what he said.
His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and family.
Early on, Jimmie worked as a cook at Schu’s Restaurant in St Joseph, MI until his health failed.
On Tuesday, March 19th, God took Jimmie’s hand and called him home. He’s now resting peacefully with his parents Jimmie and Mable; paternal grandparents Arthur and Dorthy Dortch and maternal grandparents- Johnnie L. and Emma L. Hill.
Mourning his loss-his children De’Markus and De’Shayila Williams-Hill, JaKiya, Ebony, and Joesiya Hill; 6 grandchildren and his bonus children and grandchildren.
Siblings: Emma (Rickey) Payne, Johnnie (LaTosha) Hill, Robert (Cuwanda) Hill and Elizabeth Hill.
Also mourning his passing are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, friends, and the Harbor Tower Crew and the Addidas Boys! He also leaves to cherish a special friend.
Gone, but not forgotten
