Willie Gene Ross, 60, entered into eternal rest at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI on May 6, 2017 after a long and courageous battle of cancer.. Services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at Israelite Baptist Church, 1715 Highland Ave, Benton Harbor. Visitation at 11am and services begin at NOON.
Willie Gene Ross, affectionately known as "Chill Will," was born on December 20, 1956 in Benton Harbor, MI to the union of Eugene “Buddy” and Mary Ross. Willie
Over the years, Willie Ross grew to know the Lord. Even though sickness seemed to be on every hand, he often spoke of God’s power to take care of him. He kept a positive attitude, and smiled even when it hurt. Willie was very kind and loving to all who knew him. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family, and working on cars. His favorite saying, “ride or die,” will be remembered by all.
Willie leaves to cherish in his memories: his mother, Mary Ross; two brothers, Joe (Beverly) Ross and Charlie Ross of Benton Harbor, MI, and four sisters, Rosemary Anderson, Cheryl Sisson, and Carolyn Ross of Benton Harbor, MI, and Jennifer Ross of Macon, GA; two daughters, Rosetta (Timothy) Friend of Grand Rapids, MI, and Leaner Allen of Lawrenceville, GA, and one son, Jerome Harris of Grand Rapids, MI; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Felicia Redd; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Willie was preceded in death by his father Eugene Ross and his brother John Ross.
