Vivian Smith-Moore, 59, of Benton Harbor, passed away on June 8, 2017 in Kalamazoo. Her celebration of life services will be from 6-8 p.m. June 16, at Victorious Life Christian Center. On Saturday June 17, her visitation will start at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2272 Townline Road, Benton Harbor. Burial will take place in Crystal Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Kenny Hawkins will officiate.
Vivian was born Dec, 9, 1957. She was the tenth child born to the union of the late Charlie Smith Sr. and Jamesetta Smith West in Memphis, Ark.
She attended Benton Harbor Area Schools. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She later married the late Anthony Moore and to that union they had two sons were born. Vivian was employed with the State of Michigan for many years. Also she was a faithful member of Victorious Life Christian Center where she served closely with her pastor and first lady as the administrator assistant, youth president, member of the choir and Sunday school teacher.
She leaves precious memories to cherish in the hearts of her two sons: Cameron Mitchell Smith of Niles, and Kyle Anthony Moore of the United States Army in El Paso, Texas; five sisters: Charlesetta Smith and Brenda Beaty of Benton Harbor, Dorothy (James) Griffis of Grovetown Ga., Mildred (Willie) Friason of West Memphis, Ark., and Mergie Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers: James (Verdean) Smith of Benton Harbor, and Charlie (Wanessa) Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two special nieces: Jenny Beaty, and Janice Griffis-Zanders; fiancé John James, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Moore in 2007; two sisters: Francis Craven and Bennie Cunningham.
