Paulette Jean Lee, 68, of Benton Harbor transitioned from this life May 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.

A memorial service celebrating Paulette’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Robbins Brothers Funeral Chapel, 204 South Fair Avenue in Benton Harbor. 

Paulette was born the daughter of the late Paul B. and Bessie L. Haynes on January 28, 1949, in Benton Harbor, the eldest of eleven children.  She was united in holy matrimony in 1966, to the late Harry Lee Jr. and to this union, four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, (2) sisters Roslyn and Denise Haynes and (2) brothers, Eric and Martin Haynes.

Paulette was formally educated in the Benton Harbor Area Schools.  She worked for Whirlpool Manufacturing, Weil-McLain and as a para-professional for Benton Harbor Area Schools.  Upon retirement, she worked as a bartender at the Smokey’s Lounge. 

She is survived by four sons, Anthony Haynes and Richard (Ollie) Lee, both of Benton Harbor, Edward Lee of Oklahoma City, OK, and Eric Haynes of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Joane Lee of Charlotte, NC; six brothers, Darryl (Ruby) Haynes and Roland Haynes, both of Benton Harbor, Bruce (Jackie) Haynes, of Fort Worth, TX,  Paul (Bernice) Haynes, of Memphis, TN, Howard Haynes of Los Angeles, CA, and Demetric Haynes of Cincinnati, OH;  sister-in-law, Joyce Haynes; eleven grandchildren, Mario, Tiana, Kiana, Bessie, Katerika, Cheinel, Dere, Terrance, DeAnna, Terrance and Caylen; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
