Melvin Davis heard the Lord say "well done thy good and faithful servant  

Mr. Melvin Davis 77, Of Benton Harbor, MI. Died peacefully surrounded by family, on December 25th, 2017. God called one of his strongest soldier’s home on his son’s birthday. Melvin was born July 9th, 1940 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Velma & Henry Davis. Mr. Davis was raised with his 12 siblings in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Melvin will be reunited with his beloved wife Carrie Mae Davis. He will also be joined by his six brothers. Louis, Robert, Herbert, Raymond, June, Earnest and his three sisters Anita, Shirley and Betty. Also preceding him in death were his beloved children Jerome Davis and Willie Mae Greely.

Melvin loved spending time with family and friends, especially his Pennie girl. Melvin was a very hard-working man and a great provider, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Melvin enjoyed working with his very close friend and boss Dave Timberrick.

 Melvin also known as “Doc” was an overall great man, he treated everyone like family.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory his devoted children as followed Melvin Davis Jr (Louisiana) Isaiah Davis and Preston Greely (Benton Harbor) James Coleman (Arkansas) Joyce Williams (Benton Harbor) Lisa Davis (Milwaukee) Linda Davis (Michigan City). He also leaves behind his brother Russell Davis (Benton Harbor) sister Joyce Ann Davis (Louisiana) Melvin has 21 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Doc has several nieces and nephews. Melvin will truly be missed, he left his mark and words of wisdom on his children and grandchildren.
