Mario Mendez Spears, 37, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Columbus, OH. Services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, 204 S. Fair Ave., Benton Harbor. Visitation at noon and services at 1:00pm.

Mario was born February 13, 1980 to James Butler and Bennie Mae Spears in Chicago, IL.

Mario was a loving father and brother. He had a smile that would light up a room. He lived life to the fullest and had a heart of gold. Mario would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Sammy Spears; sisters, Bernice Spears and Rachel Wall ; wife, Melina Spears; ten children: Mario, Jr., Amari, Amaria, Marshawn, Vanessa, Haden, Bennie, Amos, Adonis, and Jordon; and a host of family and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bennie Spears; grandmother, Rachel Spears; and favorite uncle, David Spears.
