The services for Khamisi Reid Jr. will be held on December 13, 2017 at Greater Community Christian Fellowship 870 Natewells, Benton Harbor, MI with visitation starting at 10:00 am and services starting at 11:00am.

Again, death has invaded the ranks of the Davis, Rittmon and Reid families and taken away a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend our beloved “Baby K.J.   

Khamisi Atu Reid Jr. was born into time on September 10, 2017, to Jessica Dorain Davis and Khamisi Atu Reid Sr.  in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at Bronson Children Hospital.  Khamisi, affectionately called “K.J.” by mother, father, and his sister Trinity and Man Man transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Bronson Children Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in the arms of his father during last moments of life.

K.J. was a fighter.  He was strong willed and endured a lot of medical challenges from the very beginning of his life, but he immediately brought joy and love to this world.  He was very feisty according to his Mom’s reflections and very aware of his environment and somehow knew when his parents entered the room.  When he heard her voice, his stats would start shooting high and he would began looking around the room to see where that voice was coming from.

Although his time here was brief, he was still a beautiful angel to his parents.  His Dad was afraid to hold him from the beginning of his life because he thought he would break him.  It is amazing how God works… on December the sixth, something told him to hold his baby son and he did so.  K.J.’s eyes opened and he looked his father in the eye and even in his unknown distress, he was smiling and so happy.  On the drive home, they received the call to return and upon their arrival, K.J. has transitioned home.

Baby Khamisi fought until the end and will forever be loved and missed by his parents, grandparents, family and friends.  

He leaves fond memories in the hearts of his beloved mother, Jessica Davis; father, Khamisi Reid Sr.; (2) sisters, Trinity Marshall and Khamesha (Quintin) Reid-White;  (2) brothers, Jamareon Rittmon and Khamisi Osby-Reid; (1) nephew, Quintin White Jr.; (1) niece, Zion White;  maternal grandparents, Lisa Rittmon and Howard Harris; paternal grandparents, Karen Reid and James Johnson,  special aunts, Lisonta Davis and Osheaona Reid; special uncles, Pernell Reid, Albert Clabin Jr., Ardrian Clabin and Jason McGee; godmother, Kathy Darling, great-grandmother, Rosie Hicks and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Clabin and cousin, Josiah Davis.
