Dorothy Mae Jackson- Johnson, 79, of Benton Harbor passed away on August 11, 2017 at the Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, MI. Services will be held Saturday August 19, 2017 at New Paradise Baptist Church, 287 S. Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor, MI. Viewing at 11am and services at noon. Burial will take place at Crystal Springs Cemetery.

Dorothy Mae Jackson-Johnson, was born April 28, 1938 to the union of Walter and Pearline Jackson in Carpenter, MS.

She was a member of the Christian Light Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Leonard Robinson.

Dorothy was known in the community as the “Freeze Cup Lady”. She was always helping someone in need and she had a heart of gold..

She is survived by her siblings: Walter Jackson, Jr., Annie Pearl Jackson, Welton Jackson, Ronald Richardson and Lynette Marie Richardson; children: James (Karen) Johnson, Jr., Lorenzo (Roxanne) Johnson, Ericka (Ellery) Rayford; 18 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Antionette Johnson and Arie Jean Johnson; brothers: Bobby Jackson, Oscar Lee Jackson, Freddie Jackson, Gregory Richardson and Donald Richardson; and sisters, Janette Jackson and Carolyn Jackson.
