Darlene Brown 65 of Benton, heard the Lord say well done thy good and faithful servant on January 8, 2018.  

Darlene Summers-Brown Wonderful loving and dedicated daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, and sister, transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on January 08, 2018 at 10:19 am. Darlene was born to Geraldine Summers-Wigfall and James Grant on December 31, 1952 in Benton Harbor, MI. Darlene always bragged on her grandmother, Mary Garrow who she loved dearly, and helped raised her. Darlene was loved by many; she was a hard worker with a very kind, sweet, humble soul. Prior to her death she Retired from Benton Harbor Transportation Division as an attendant. Throughout Darlene life up to her transition, she was a Strong Woman, who wanted nothing but the best for her husband and children. Darlene accepted Christ many years. ago. She attended Greater Grace Temple and New Paradise Baptist Church. One of Darlene passions was the love of raising children, which she was a foster mother to many, for many years. She adopted her niece Lakesha Wigfall and nephew Lamont Wigfall and Apollonia Ellis, all of Benton Harbor, MI. Darlene was, a tell it like it is type of person, whether it’s good or bad, but always in a sweet way. You couldn’t help but to love her.

Darlene leaves to cherish her memories to; mother, Geraldine Wigfall, husband- Johnny Brown (Brown) as she would lovely say. Her children; LaFunta, Lashondra, Zamora Summers all of Benton Harbor, MI. Marcel Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Tiffany Brown of Benton Harbor, MI. 12 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grand-children. Three sister’s Martha(Fred), Sanders, Denecia, April Wigfall of BH, MI. Five brother’s; John lee, Nathaniel, Victor Wigfall all BH, MI.  Jerry and Terry Matlock, of Detroit, MI. A very special cousin, more like a like sister, Frieda Warren. A few special nieces. Tica, Jolin, Terrisha, Lonneishia. Nephews. Terrence, Terry, Jonquel, Shondale. Darlene has a host of nieces and nephews, and in-laws she also loved dearly. She also leaves a host of other love ones, who lives she touched which includes her best friend Darlene Riddick, and family and friends too many to mention whom she loved.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father James Grant, Paternal Grandmother, Mary Garrow, Son, Daryl Summers, 3 Brothers Lonnie Wigfall, Zachary and Jimmy Grant, Sister Yvonne Wigfall. Maternal Grandmother, Pearl Cooper, Aunt Maggie Wallace, Mother and Father in Law, Izona (JB) Brown, Grand Children, Anniya McCree and Levi Summers.
