Annie Mae (Annie Granny) Cooper

Annie Mae Cooper also know as Annie Granny transitioned on March 11, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.  Her Legacy farewell service will be held on March 23, 2018 Friday at Israelite Missionary Baptist Church 1715 Highland Benton Harbor, MI 49022 with visitation starting at 10:00 am and services beginning at 11:00 am.

A life of love is to be celebrated and never mourned.  Such a life began when Annie Mae “Annie Granny” Ivery Cooper was born Saturday, May 23, 1925 to the late Will & Lizzia Mae Ivery in Oakville, Tennessee.Annie met and married James Cooper, Sr and had 11 children: Marvin, Robert, Carolyn, Willie, Jessie, Larry, Rose, James, Jackie, Dennis and LC.

Annie accepted Christ at an early age. After moving to Michigan, she joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Harvey Greenwood.

Annie Granny loved fishing, playing Bingo and spending time with her family. Her siblings were very special to her.  She believed in helping others; her doors were always open to anyone in need.

On Sunday, March 11, 2018 Annie Mae took her Savior’s hand and was reunited with loved ones who proceeded her in death.  Her husband-James Cooper, Sr; parents- Will and Lizzia Mae Ivery; sons; -Robert Whitfield Jr, Willie Whitfield, LC Cooper and siblings-3 brothers & 2 sisters.

 She leaves to cherish her loving memory 2 daughters– Carolyn Booth, and Rose Cooper 6 sons– Jessie (Mary) Whitfield, Larry (Pam) Cooper, James Cooper Jr, Jackie Cooper, and Dennis Cooper., Marvin Hoyle ,28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
